Saline Firefighter's Chili Cookoff

 New this year, the Saline Firefighters Association will be dishing up their fabulous chili at this year's Harvest of the Arts Oktoberfest.  There will also be a

"chili competition" with the Saline Firefighters Association and the South and West Washtenaw Consortium and Saline High School Culinary Arts Department. Winners will be announced at 1:00 p.m. on N. Ann Arbor Street.  A portion of the proceeds will go to the Scholarship Fund.

Culinary Bake Sale

 11:00 am - Sold Out (usually by 11:30...it's THAT good!!!)

The South & West Washtenaw Consortium and the Saline High School Culinary Department will host their annual Baked Goods Sale.  The Culinary Students will

be on hand to sell their delicious pies, breads and other baked goods located on North Ann Arbor Street.  Their fabulous recipes were a HUGE hit last year!

Oktoberfest Bier Garten

 12:00 noon - 11:00 pm

Join us under the "big" white tent located on N. Ann Arbor Street for a taste of Germany. The Bier Garten will open at noon offering a German beer along with a

German wine to wet your palate as you lunch on chili and brats.  The German activities will kick off at 5:00 offering authentic German food and music provided

by Luther Schaible. At 7:30 Justine Blazer will take the stage.  The Bier Garten will close at 11:00.

Each year Saline celebrates our sister-city heritage with Lindenberg, Germany, and not coincidentally, this occurs during the Oktoberfest celebration time.

Every year, something is missing – beer!  Famously celebrated by Germany during this time of year, we are setting to fix that!  Well, maybe not for the masses

but if you brew your own beer, then you are encouraged to participate in the 1st Annual Home Brew Competition.  OK, while it doesn’t quite get beer to lips to the masses, you will be able to enter for pride & fame. And best of all, Entries are Free!

Beers must be delivered to Chris Frey at 275 South Ann Arbor Street, Saline, Michigan by Sunday, September 20th. One bottle (at least 12 ounces), with

a label rubber-banded around the bottle must be delivered to Chris Frey at 275 South Ann Arbor Street, Saline. Chris is the Chairman of the 

Governing Committee for the American Homebrewers Association and an enthusiastic local homebrewer. He can be reached at crispy275@comcast.net,

Name of Brewer and Brew

Name and style of beer

Any homebrew club you might be associated with.

Judging will be done by local luminaries from Saline.  This competition is a People’s Favorite, and the top three will be awarded ribbons and receive event mugs.

(Sorry, due to regulations our visitors will not be able to sample the "local" brew)

3:00 - 7:00 PM

We will have a water taste test/giving away 100 really cool water bottles (environmentally safe, of course!) from 3-7pm,

to educate the public about pollution generated from purchasing bottled water, etc.

Art Fair

 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

This is our 4th annual fine arts and crafts fair located on S. Ann Arbor Street.

A great venue to purchase that special one of a kind work of art.  Please visit

the artist icon to view our current list of attendees.  Artists demonstrations throughout the day. The Best in Show and Best Booth Display will be

awarded at 11:30 on S. Ann Arbor Street.

Inspiration Station Goes "Green"
